Customisation Workshop Assistant (Casual Role)
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people strongly encouraged to apply
We are on the lookout for a creative, bubbly and organised casual Workshop Assistant to help us run our customisation workshops, where attendees bring their designs to life using our deadly heat press transfers.
Your role is to help our workshop attendees customise t-shirts or accessories with our exclusive Gammin Threads designs, working closely with the team to make sure each event runs smoothly and is a vibe from start to finish.
You’ll be representing Gammin Threads out in the community, so we’re looking for someone who’s warm, reliable, and proud to share our values.

-
Prepping for workshops (1–2 hrs the day before):
Cutting and preparing heat transfers, stocktaking, and organising everything we need for the workshop. -
Workshop day (approx. 3 hrs + travel):
Driving to the venue, setting up the workspace, assisting attendees with their design placement, operating the heat press (very easy to use!), yarning with attendees, and making sure everything’s looking sharp and running smoothly. -
Post-event:
Packing down the workshop and returning stock and equipment to the Gammin Threads studio in Brunswick East.
Who we’re looking for:
-
A bubbly, engaging personality who loves a yarn and connecting with community
-
Creative eye and design sense, (especially helpful for transfer placement)
-
Organised and reliable with great communication skills
-
Comfortable using hands and learning new tools (heat press training provided)
-
Able to drive and has access to a car (preferred)
-
A team player who’s happy to be hands-on from prep to pack-down
-
Mob preferred, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply
The details:
-
Casual role, approx. 1–4 workshops per month (depending on season)
-
$50 per hour
-
Workshops run for a minimum of 3 hours, plus prep (1–2 hrs) and travel time to the venue
