Gammin threads is my side hustle and creative outlet from my part-time job at Aboriginal family violence prevention service, Djirra.

Based in Naarm/Melbourne, the brand is inspired by culture, community, and cool aunties — blending contemporary streetwear with storytelling, language, and IYKYK humour. We create bold, ethically made tees, hoodies, and accessories that centre Blak voices, representation, and joy.

How we started

Gammin Threads didn’t start with a business plan. It started with two statements:

Respect the Blak Matriarchy.
Respect Blak Women.

I wanted to design something that showed my love and admiration for the Blak women in our communities who do so much, often with very little support. I didn’t want to make an obvious NAIDOC tee. I wanted something that felt like a fashion brand — something cool, timeless, and something that made you connect the dots.

From there, Gammin has slowly grown into collections, runway shows, collaborations, workshops, and a creative studio working across fashion, merchandise, and community projects.

What we love

We love loud colours, oversized graphics, matching sets, old-school hip hop, staunch aunties, 80s and 90s pop culture, hand-drawn artwork, and fashion that feels expressive and personal.

Our Values

Representation

We celebrate everyday blackfellas. We centre blak voices, language, and culture. Every design is a statement of pride.

Creativity

We dont follow trends. We blend contemporary streetwear with storytelling featuring language, cheekiness and IYKYK humour.

Blak Joy

Joy is resistance. We deserve to laugh, play and to look deadly.

We believe celebrating Blak joy, identity, and creativity matters, and that clothing can be a powerful way to express that.

Where We Give Back

Community connection is a vital part of Gammin Threads.

Alongside collections and collaborations, we regularly support community organisations, artists, schools, youth groups, and grassroots initiatives through workshops, events, collaborations, and product donations throughout the year.

We believe fashion and creativity can be powerful tools for connection, visibility, opportunity, and joy.
