iilk
iilk is a limited edition collab with Boonwurrung, Wemba Wemba and Trawlwoolway sis Jarra Karalinar Steel. It features artwork from Jarra’s 2021 Rising Melbourne Art Tram design iilk (short fin eel).
This range is proudly Koori, and in true gammin style, inspo came from 80s and 90s pop culture & hip hop, and all the cool aunties we know.
About iilk artwork
“From a young age, my mother would tell me stories of the Iilk (short fin eel) and their long journey cycles, as they are important as a food source for our people. The Iilk’s journey cycles signaled the changing seasons and the cycles of life. I was captivated by the idea of these Iilk traveling underneath Elizabeth Street, which was once a creek flowing from the Birrarung (Yarra River). That like us, in this urban built-up jungle, we are still here on our country.
I like to imagine their long journey to the bay and ocean and back again returning to country.
By using the Iilk in my designs, I aim to reclaim their significant place in what we now call Melbourne. I envision these eels traveling along our tram lines, symbolizing their and our enduring journey.”

View collectionProtect Trans Mob Enoki collab
Protect Trans Mob is a collaboration with one of our fave Koorie artists ENOKi for Pride Month. It celebrates the strength and resilience of our gender diverse mob, featuring a beautiful and unmistakable ENOKi illustration in bright purple screen print.
About the artwork
“In our own country where we as Blak fellas are already the most marginalised, our voices are so unheard, and our rights are constantly being questioned ENOKi wanted to create an artwork that speaks on the extra care everyone should be putting into gender diverse indigenous people of so-called "Australia".
The 'Protect Trans Mob' piece is more than just about physically protecting gender diverse mob, it's about protecting their identities against the western concept of transness and the policing of how indigenous people present ourselves as well as how they identify. A lot of indigenous queer/trans history has been lost or destroyed due to colonisation so they have to protect what little they have left.
In the centre of the artwork is a shield with a triangle pattern. As triangles are the strongest shape found in nature, this represents the strength and resilience of the gender diverse mob. The second element is ENOKi's figures, with the addition of butterfly-like wings representing the idea of transformation and how people's, especially indigenous people's, concept of the under can come in many different forms, and their own relationship with gender can range in a variety of ways.”
About ENOKi
Darcy McConnel a.k.a ENOKi (they/them) is a Dja Dja Wurrung, Yorta Yorta, Wemba Wemba and Gunai/Kurnai multi-media artist based on Wurundjeri Country. Through their practice they explore Blak and queer identity with the use of bright vibrant colours inspired by pop art and country.
